What is it about turning a smoothie into a smoothie bowl that makes them more fun to eat?
Maybe it’s that they remind me of childhood memories of eating big bowls of cereal around the clock? Or maybe it’s just that they’re so gosh darn tasty? Or is it because they look pretty? What was the question again, I got distracted by the smoothie bowls…
Whatever the ever the question might be, the answer is Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie Bowls. Say that five times fast, would ya? 😉
Smoothie bowls have become my new favourite way to eat breakfast and these Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie Bowls are the reason for my new found addiction. An interesting cross between breakfast and ice cream, it’s pure bliss in a bowl. Don’t believe me, try making these Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie Bowls for yourself!
Making your own Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie Bowls is actually quite simple:
- place all ingredients in blender
- blend on high
- pour in bowl
- enjoy to your heart’s content!
See? Isn’t that super easy?
My next favourite part about these Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie Bowls is topping them with all the toppings. I decided to top each bowl a little differently to show you just how versatile the smoothie bowls are. On the first bowl, I added a big dollop of peanut butter, some cacao nibs and a sprinkle of chia seeds for some extra pow. On the second bowl, I added chunks of dried coconut, cacao nibs for crunch and some more chia seeds. These Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie Bowls would also be excellent topped with fresh fruit, like strawberries or raspberries to play off the chocolate flavour a bit. Even some more banana would be a great topping – I can never get enough banana. They don’t call me Savanna-Banana for nothing 😉
So get some of this goodness in you life, pronto! It’s the perfect breakfast, snack or even dessert.
