For those of you who may not be familiar with this, Nowruz is the Persian New Year and is being celebrated today in Persian culture. My husband and his family are Persian which means that I will be spending the day with his lovely family, indulging in some quality family time, funny stories and delicious Persian food. The food, my friends, is key to celebrating Nowruz properly – sweets are abundant during this celebration and I couldn’t be happier! In fact, Persian desserts and I were basically best friends at first taste – pistachios, rose water and saffron are staples in most Persian desserts and are all things that I adore together!
Since I won’t be able to post a tasty recipe that I created in my own kitchen today, I thought I would take this opportunity to share my first link love post, highlighting some tasty Persian inspired dishes that you can make with your own family. A lot of Persian dishes are naturally vegetarian and many can easily be modified to suit vegan and gluten-free diets.
Persian food is delicious and a personal favourite of mine. I practically beg my mother in law to make Zereshk Polo and Tahdig every time we visit – it’s the best!! I hope you’ll go and check out some of these tasty looking recipes from some fellow bloggers. If you try any, let me know what you thought – I would love to hear about your experience!
So, I don’t know about you but I’m starving now! When’s dinner?
Lots of love & happy eats,
